PSYGNOSIS RAMPS UP CONSUMER PROMOTIONS

Psygnosis Joins The Right Guard, Right Sound National College Campus

Listening Tour and Mall of America Network Game Competition

FOSTER CITY, Calif. -- March 26, 1996 -- In a move to ramp up consumer promotions to showcase a full range of PlayStation game console and PC CD-ROM games, Psygnosis, Inc., a subsidiary of Sony Corporation of America, has joined the Right Guard, Right Sound Listening Party, a national college campus music tour, and is also set to participate in the first ever network game competition to be held at Mall of America in Minneapolis, Minn. on April 28.

By joining these exciting consumer events, Psygnosis is targeting two key demographic audiences essential to keeping the company's products and name top of mind: college students and families. The party-like atmosphere of the promotions is sure to draw a lively crowd. Consumers can try out the newest in game titles while listening to their favorite music.

"Combining interactive entertainment with audio entertainment is a great way to attract potential customers," remarks Maggie Goodwin, vice president, marketing for Psygnosis, Inc. "Consumers get a chance to play-test our latest games while jamming to the hottest sounds at each event."

Give-aways of music CDs and interactive games, as well as game contests to draw in audience participation, will also run throughout the events.

The Right Guard, Right Sound Listening Party is a 90-day promotion which is making stops at 25 college campuses nationwide. At each campus, an evening extravaganza features an all-night DJ, rocking down the house with the latest music hits. Four PlayStation game console kiosks will give students a chance to check out the best console games available, including Psygnosis' Destruction Derby, WipeOut, Assault Rigs and Krazy Ivan. Each event will be advertised and promoted through local and campus radio stations.

The tour has just finished a west coast sweep and is now heading back through the midwest. For April, the party is scheduled to make stops at the University of Missouri, the University of Minnesota, Pennsylvania State University, Ohio State University, Rutgers University, Louisiana State University and many more.

In addition to the Right Guard, Right Sound Listening Party, popular syndicated game columnist Vox Day will be hosting the Mall of America Network Game Competition, Vox Day's Digital Ghetto Live, on April 28 at the Mall of America in Minneapolis, Minn.

"Digital Ghetto at Mall of America is, for one day, going to be the center of the gaming universe, getting hard-core gamers to go head-to-head with cool titles like Assault Rigs and Destruction Derby," says Vox Day of Chronicle Features and the St. Paul Pioneer Press.

Popular local DJ Greg Comstock will be broadcasting "Ultrasonic Burn," a techno-industrial music show on the Minneapolis radio station, The Edge (93.7 FM on the local dial), live from the event. Comstock will be playing hit music from bands like "Unbelievable Jolly Machine" and "Halo Black" as mall-goers join both video and network computer game competitions and win software giveaways.

Three to four 8-player network competitions will take place using popular software such as Doom II and Hexen. The event will also include a first-time consumer competition using Psygnosis' 8-player network computer game, Assault Rigs. Link-cable competitions with Sony's PlayStation game console running Psygnosis' Destruction Derby and Assault Rigs will give consumers a chance to win free software.

Psygnosis employs over 300 people with publishing and development offices in the US, UK and across Europe. Working with over 30 development teams across the world with six internals developments sites, the company is now the largest development house in Europe. Psygnosis is a wholly owned subsidiary of Sony Corporation of America.
