ASSAULT RIGS™ FROM PSYGNOSIS BLASTS ITS WAY

ONTO PC CD-ROM AND SONYíS PLAYSTATION™ GAME CONSOLE

FOSTER CITY, Ca. -- January 31, 1996 -- Assault Rigs, a futuristic tank combat game, has been released for Sonyís 32-bit PlayStation game console by Psygnosis, Inc. A PC CD-ROM version is slated for release in February.

Set in a ìvirtual arenaî environment and featuring multi-player action on both platforms, Assault Rigs boasts real-time 3D graphics that take players through a series of hostile, interactive mazes. In this cyberspace combat zone, the sports teams of the future battle it out for supremacy in the ultimate test of strategic tank-commanding skill using --Assault Rigs.

Die Hard Game Fan describes the game as ìone of the most creative blasters Iíve seen in a long time (combining) amazing 3D graphics with high intensity tank busting action.î The magazineís 94%-scoring review also notes that ìthe on-screen events are rammed home in shattering Dolby® Surround sound for a super realistic effect.î

One of the first games to take advantage of the home-theater revolution, Assault Rigs supports Dolby Surround for the ultimate in-game audio experience. Explains Maggie Goodwin, vice president, marketing, Psygnosis, Inc. ìAs interactive gaming becomes part of the mainstream home entertainment menu, Assault Rigs reflects our belief that great audio is an essential element to complement great graphics and gameplay. Dolby Surround is a superb way of placing gamers in the middle of the action.î

Developed in-house by Psygnosisí Studios, in southwest England, Assault Rigs' all-action armory features thirteen weapon options that include bouncing ammo, land-mines, fly-by-wire missiles, heat-seekers and laser cannons. Additionally, the game offers multiple player viewpoints which each have their own strategic purpose to help the player navigate the jump-ramps, sky-ways, trenches, movable blocks, elevators and sentry turrets. Each level is a masterpiece of challenging game design.
