ESPN EXTREME GAMES™ FOR PC NOW AVAILABLE FROM PSYGNOSIS

FOSTER CITY, Ca. -- February 27, 1996 -- ESPN Extreme Games, the popular PlayStation™ game console sports title, is now available on CD-ROM for IBM PC and compatible computers. Published by Psygnosis, Inc., ESPN Extreme Games for the PC features the same PlayStation excitement of competitive sports action using the hottest new gear: in-line skates, mountain bikes, skateboards and street luges. As a PC title, players will find exceptional graphics, gameplay and control in each of the five heart-pounding levels.

ESPN Extreme Games non-traditional nature as a sports title is sure to appeal to PC game players of all ages. “In-line skating, mountain-biking, skateboarding and street luge are hugely popular activities among our dedicated computer-user demographic,” said Maggie Goodwin, vice president, marketing, Psygnosis, Inc. “ESPN Extreme Games is a refreshing new genre of PC sports software that players will find more fun and perhaps less stringent than other competitive sports games.”

The new CD-ROM game features five different courses from around the world -- San Francisco, Lake Tahoe, South America, Rome and Utah -- and three levels of difficulty to master.

Players can either compete alone or go for head-to-head racing action by punching, kicking and jumping while they race against 15 opponents in true 3-D worlds. To control the action, either a keyboard or Gravis™ Game Pad can be used.

ESPN Extreme Games features extensive play value for the gamer. Each “vehicle” has its strengths and special moves that make it ideal for certain terrain. For example, the street luge is good for smooth downhill racing, while the mountain bike proves the best for hills and rough terrain.

Players can choose to race a single race or try to complete a “season.” By completing a season, money can be earned to buy better equipment in the “pro shop” and compete in more races. Just as in the PlayStation game console version of ESPN Extreme Games, hidden bonus levels and shortcuts are included. This hard-hitting, fast-paced game is complemented by cutting-edge music, special digital sound effects and voice-overs by ESPN announcers.

ESPN Extreme Games was developed in-house by Sony Interactive Studios.
